Discovering what a Furry convention is all about, prompted Mika Brzezinski to run off the set of her program. On Monday, the hosts of Morning Joe, were doing a segment on a chlorine gas incident that occurred at the 2014 Furry Convention in Chicago.
Brzezinski read the prompter and explained that thousands of people gathered at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, were evacuated at around 1 a.m. after guests reported a chlorine odor on the 9th floor.
Brzezinski went on to share that 19 people were hospitalized and police believe that the incident was intentional. As she was talking about the incident, Mika Brzezinski and co-host Joe Scarborough started paying attention to a video of the attendees of the Furry convention and noticed that they were all dressed in animal costumes, which prompted them to ask what are furries? Furries are people interested in fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics.Examples of anthropomorphic attributes include exhibiting human intelligence and facial expressions, the ability to speak, walk on two legs, and wear clothes.
Upon understanding who attends a Furry event, Mika Brzezinski started laughing to the point that she decided to run off the stage and hide in the back of the studio.
While Scarborough and Brzezinski were giggling, Willie Geist stepped in and tried to finish the segment. Few people took to social media to say that Mika Brzezinski should not be laughing at people hit by deadly gases even if they are dressed in strange outfits.
