Melissa McCarthy, you were my hero. But now, I gotta say I look up to the whole Ghostbusters crew!
The actor tweeted a picture of a whole slew of female cast and crew members of the Ghostbusters team. Holding handwritten signs bearing their work responsiblities – from “actor” and “costume” to “cast assistant” and “stunts” – the women pose behind a larger sign reading “Girl Power” held by the film’s leads: McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.
“3 cheers to Ellen from all the remarkable women of #Ghostbusters. When we stand together we are unstoppable! #GirlPower,” reads the caption.
According to People, the picture was a shout-out to Ellen DeGeneres‘ partnership with Gap on a clothing line espousing girl power. The line, called “GapKids x ED,” celebrates a young girl’s ability to choose their own style free from gender stereotypes.
